Core Functions:Installs, repairs, and removes in an efficient manner various electrical equipment with respect to quality, safety and sanitation.Reads and interprets drawings, sketches and layouts.Performs lay-out, installs and maintains a variety of electrical equipment such as motors, lighting circuits, starters, generators, transformers, or any other electrical apparatus necessary for plant operation.Maintains shop cleanliness.Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical drives.Uses electrical testing equipment to assist with determining proper course of action.Performs wire and cable pulls.Prepares necessary material lists in order to perform electrical installation and maintenance.Maintains a clean and orderly work area and removes material and equipment from job site.Checks output on DC controllers and replaces printed circuit boards when needed.Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.Construct and fabricate parts, using hand tools and specifications.Update and use relevant knowledge - Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job.Think creatively - Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.Install all wiring to and between electric and electronic equipment.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Reads and correctly interprets diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications.Perform all work in a safe manner and within all compliance requirements to avoid personal injury.Able to troubleshoot electrically and mechanically pneumatic- packaging- processing equipment and utility systems.Able to create- read- and train on electrical/electronic schematics and drawings- fabricate control panels and start-up new and rebuilt equipment.Maintains compliance with all OSHA, Company, and customer-specific safety requirements. Perform all work in a safe manner and within all compliance requirements to avoid personal injury.Apprentice to Level 2 and Level 3 ElectriciansSkills and Requirements:Education requirements (HS diploma or equivalent)Experience requirements (1-2 years’ experience)Hard skills (3 phase motors, 480-volt AC power systems, Conduit and wiring experience preferred)Basic mechanical skillsAbility to read and understand shop orders and electrical schematics.Ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals.Good logic and math skillsKnowledge of and ability to operate computers and associated software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookRequires good knowledge of the principles of electricity and mechanical aptitude.Soft skills (good communication skills, knowing all OSHA safety requirements, schematics and wiring diagrams, able to work with limited or no supervision)Understand and able to communicate with team NEC as it relates to industrial installations.
