Voyager Beverage is Hiring a Sales Manager Near Louisville, KY

We're ooking for a salesperson for a lead salesperson for our Kentucky business. This is a ground-floor position in a new market for us with the potential to convert to full time. You'll cover both Lexington and Louisville, and ideally be based in one of those markets.

About us: Voyager Beverage is an independently owned importer and distributor of low-intervention wine, cider, and sake. We currently serve the Cleveland, Columbus. Cincinnati, Dayton, and Kentucky metro areas since 2021. We’re passionate about bringing our portfolio of beverages to Ohio for the first time, purveying only small lot, organically farmed, natural wines and ciders.

Our namesake comes from the sense of adventure we feel about natural wine and cider. Whether it’s a pet nat from Italy or a co-fermented cider from New York, we seek adventure and hope others can enjoy the ride, too.

Status: Open to part time, full time, or contract-based roles to start

Comp: Base plus commission pegged to 80th percentile of market rates.

Responsibilities: Simply, sell wine to shops and restaurants in Kentucky. You'll cold call, conduct regular visits, taste wine with your accounts, develop events, attempt to sell through digital methods like email and social. The job is whatever you make it if you're able to sell.

Culture: You’ll have the autonomy to build an entire metro area from near scratch, and enter at the ground floor of an ambitious beverage company.

Who you are:

  • Entrepreneurial—you’ll be the owner for your metro, and you’ll need to hungrily build upon the account base currently in place. You’ll be asked to more than double the current account base
  • Systematic—You’ll have to create a system for operating in your metro, and set up Voyager to grow for the long term
  • Empathetic—Sales is about empathy and being able to solve problems for a diverse group of people
