Job Summary

As the Director of Finance-Controller, you will play a pivotal role in leading the financial and administrative functions of Vortex Cold Storage. Reporting directly to the VP of operations, you will drive the accounting processes, have input on strategic financial direction, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster a culture of operational excellence across our Albert Lea and St. Cloud facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, and implementation of accounting functions that support the company's growth objectives, including the integration of our upcoming St. Cloud facility.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of management and professional-level staff within the finance and HR department.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and departmental teams to establish and monitor key performance indicators and strategic objectives.
• Develop and implement policies and best practices to optimize financial performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Drive the development of business plans for new projects, services, and market expansion initiatives, considering the unique needs of our customers.
• Stay informed about financial and regulatory trends, implementing necessary changes to mitigate risks and seize opportunities in our dynamic industry.
• Facilitate the implementation of new systems and technologies to enhance operational efficiency across multiples facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation highly desired.
• Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in financial management roles within a similar industry.
• Strong understanding of financial and legal best practices, with a proven ability to provide strategic financial counsel to executive leadership.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams effectively.

Additional Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Willingness to travel between Albert Lea and St. Cloud facilities, as well as occasional travel for meetings and professional development opportunities.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
