Responsibilities

A Shipping Associate unloads customer transfers, stock transfers and other items from all Von Maur stores. Reloads merchandise and other items on trucks for store delivery. Primary job responsibilities of a Shipping Associate include the following:

-Manually unloads merchandise transferred from all store locations.

-Sorts merchandise to be transferred to other store locations.

-Stacks boxed merchandise into trucks. Wraps and stacks some pallets for shipping.

-Loads trucks with merchandise trolleys and boxed merchandise for shipping, with attention to detail, to various store locations.

-Seals trucks for shipment, and completes necessary paperwork.

-Assists Corporate Office personnel with lifting and carrying items as needed.

-Crushes and bales cardboard boxes and plastic for disposal.

Today, 37 Von Maur stores are scattered across 15 states: Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma and Wisconsin; and we’re still expanding. Our corporate headquarters and E-commerce facility are located in Davenport, Iowa.
