Volunteers of America is Hiring a Remote Grants Management Intern (SUMMER 2024) (REMOTE POSSIBLE)

We provide hundreds of service programs, including those for seniors and people with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, and those recovering from addiction. VOA is seeking a Grants Management Intern. The person in this role - under the direction of the Senior Director, Program Compliance & Grants Management - will support the grants program to structure and draft policies and procedures relevant to grants management. This role provides an excellent opportunity for gaining hands on experience within Grants Management. 

This position is full-time (up to 30 hours per week with flexibility)

Fully Remote and Hybrid Work Schedules are available

The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided

Primary Responsibilities:

The selected candidate in this role will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting with the planning and coordination of the grants calendar, including proposal & reporting deadlines
  • Standardizing Grants Management documents and forms
  • Providing input for draft policy documents in collaboration with the Director

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Interest in nonprofit development, non-profit financial management and/or grants management
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent research skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A professional demeanor with an aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving

Qualifications:

Physical Capabilities:

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods

Education and Experience:

  • Current undergraduate student with an interest in Business Administration, Fundraising and/or Development for non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply
