Position: Residential Manager

Reports to: Coordinator of Residential Services

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt - Full time

Work hours will include working some weekends

The Residential Manager is responsible for assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities to engage in activities to learn new skills, increase community participation, and develop natural supports. This position will assist individuals in participating in social, educational, and recreational activities, as well as assist with daily living skills as need. The Residential Manager will promote choice and provide supports and services as outlined in individual’s person-centered plan. They will strive to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere to encourage active participation and satisfaction of services.

The position requires a person twenty-one (21) years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.

The position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with the individual receiving services, co-workers, team members, family members, related agencies, and others. Good rapport with all parties involved is critical to ensuring quality service delivery. The position also requires the ability to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals while promoting dignity and respect. The Residential Manager must have good time management skills to be able to support the needs of multiple people. The employee must possess good written and oral communication skills and a valid Alabama driver’s license. The Residential Manager must also be able to pass all required training courses including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, CPI and other trainings outlined in VOA Southeast’s Policies & Procedures.
