The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) shall perform in accordance with state and local laws and within the guidelines of his/her professional organization. All functions shall be performed in accordance with the established policies and practices of Agency and the particular institution in which the LPN is performing his/her duties. The LPN is qualified by education, training, experience and demonstrated abilities to give nursing care under the direction of a RN and to have the knowledge of the principles of psychological, biological and social sciences. Resident Care – Support training of all care providers, immediate report any suspected abuse or neglect, complete admission and ongoing assessments, pass medications and complete treatments as needed. Ensure awareness and educate on DNR status.
- Charting and Documentation – Ensure residents charts and care plans are updated. Accurately transcript physicians notes or orders.
- Provide Monitoring – Role model for caregiver, provide positive communication, observe and listen to report, attend nurse and team meetings, Confirm personal correctly assigned based on census and care needs.
- Available to take calls for non-delegated tasks that should be reported to RN. Understating what is to report to RN.
