This is a PAIDposition, benefit eligible.Hours: 30 Hours/weekDuration: 1.5 Year Grant position, w/ possibilityfor renewalRetired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), sponsoredby Volunteers of America-Minnesota, is looking for an energetic team member tocoordinate our Wellness program. Programs include our Fit & Strong! andBone Builders initiatives. Fit & Strong! is a low-cost, evidence-based,multiple component exercise program. It combines flexibility, strength trainingand aerobic walking with health education for sustained behavior change amongolder adults with lower extremity osteoarthritis (OA). Bone Builders is a free,osteoporosis prevention exercise class that uses weight training and balanceexercises. This is a PAID position, 30 hours a week and has flexible hoursdependent on program needs.As a program leader, job responsibilities include: • Recruiting, training, and managing volunteerclass leaders• Working with host sites for classes• Maintaining paperwork, including ensuring thatdocuments are following HIPAA compliance guidelines• Working with class participants• As this is a flexible position, employee must beable to work independently, and demonstrate the ability to achieve goals.• Computer skills, some travel, and backgroundcheck required.Qualifications• Previous coaching and supervision experience.• Ability to work with volunteers. Personalvolunteer experience a plus.• Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Flexibility.• Enthusiasm. • Dependability. • Willingness to lead a small group. • Interest in working with older adults and withdiverse populations. • Life experiences valued- with education or healthcare experience a plus. • Ability to perform range of motion and low-levelendurance exercises. • Ability to carry up to 20 lbs.• Current CPR certification a plus• Experience working with older adults and/ orindividuals with arthritis preferred• Must attend a training led by Fit & Strong! • A Fitness instructor certified by a nationallyrecognized fitness organization such as (AFAA), (ACSM), (ACE), (CIAR), (ISSA),(NASM), (NCSF), (NFPT), (NSCA), (YMCA) OR a leader of another evidence-basedprogram (AMOB, CDSMP) with experience and comfort leading group-based exerciseclasses.• Must have a car to drive to site locations.Additional InformationRSVP identifies volunteer opportunities for its members, whoare age 55 and over, that meet their individual skills, interests, schedule andgeographic availability.If interested, apply directly at http://www.voamnwi.org Click Careers – click View Opportunities
