Volunteer Florida — who is the lead Emergency Support Function for Volunteers and Donations at the Florida Division of Emergency Management is hiring!
Volunteer Florida is looking for a dedicated Emergency Management Coordinator to join our team! The position is based in Tallahassee, Florida — but we do have opportunities for hybrid remote work. The position does involve travel, activation to the State Emergency Operations Center and a lot of opportunities to work with both the non-profit communities and directly with emergency managers.
This position plays a crucial role in responding to emergencies across the state and providing training. You’ll act as an Alternate Emergency Coordinating Officer in the State Emergency Operations Center, coordinate with Florida VOAD, provide programmatic assistance to Community Emergency Response Teams throughout the state and serve as an alternate Voluntary Agency Liaison. At Volunteer Florida we get the opportunity to work with all of the amazing volunteer groups who respond before, during and after a disaster. It is NEVER boring in the Emergency Management Department!
