We’re looking for an IT Asset Specialist to help keep our business running smoothly. You’ll be the authority on all of the equipment in both our Dallas and Allen data centers, including what’s on-site, what’s yet to arrive, and spare parts. As an early hire, you’ll also have significant influence in defining our company culture and ensuring our success.

This is a full-time role, on-site, and you must be in commuting distance of both of our data centers in Dallas and Allen. We are not able to provide sponsorship for this position. 

What You’ll Do

• Asset Management:

  • Track all on-site assets, including shipments and spares, in our DCIM, to monitor the location, usage, and lifecycle of all assets

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets on-site

  • Inventory Lifecycle: oversee the maintenance, upgrades, disposal, and decommissioning process of all physical assets

• Spare Parts Administration:

  • Scan out parts from parts locker and coordinate with responsible parties to ensure they get replaced and serviced

  • Scan in parts that are replenished

  • Collaborate with Operations staff to replenish low-stock parts

  • Coordinate with partners (Dell, Nvidia) to initiate return authorization processes

• Shipping & Receiving:

  • Ensure all items shipped to Voltage Park get received and tracked in our Data Center Inventory Management system 

  • Package and prepare outbound shipments, coordinating with delivery partners (such as Fedex) to ensure successful delivery

  • Unbox incoming shipments, removing cardboard and other flammables, package in ESD bags as necessary, and ensure placement in Voltage Park secure storage areas

• Physical Access: 

  • Keep physical access lists up-to-date

  • Approve new access requests for vendors and third-parties

• Project coordination with external on-site vendors, ensuring they meet deliverables, and handling escalations and communications with Operations team

• Collaborate closely with operations team and data center site managers to ensure success of our builds

Must-have Qualities: 

• Extremely organized and attentive to detail: absolutely nothing slips through the cracks

• Experience in a highly technical environment, for example, IT or other data centers 

• you know our different hardware assets like the back of our hand, and are comfortable navigating a highly technical environment
