Connected Infotainment Project Lead

- EE 000083 - Hybrid
Primary Location United States-Tennessee-Chattanooga


Role Summary:

This position serves as the project lead function to support infotainment modules in the vehicles built in Chattanooga. The responsibilities include the tracking of development status with lead engineers in Germany and taking lead responsibility in planning, executing, and delivering results to project partners. Experience in various areas of electrical development is required in order to provide support and direction to other members of the electrical team.

Role Responsibilities:

Connected Infotainment Project Lead – (90%)

  • Serve as counterpart of module project leads in WOB to develop, validate, and release parts for the NAR market
  • Builds and maintains strong connection to project counterparts in Germany and US
  • Assists with root causes of problems issues
  • Works with the test coordinator to determine all necessary testing has been identified and to ensure the proper release of all electrical systems into the NAR market.
  • Works together with Purchasing, Quality, and VWAG to achieve software and part readiness for launch
  • Monitors and identifies market trends and makes product recommendations.

Support for Chattanooga Factory Issues – (10%)

Supports with analysis of infotainment topics during Atlas and ID4 pre-series and series programs at the Chattanooga Factory


Qualifications:
Years of Experience:
  • 5 years of experience with automotive electronic system development
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent - required
  • Master’s in Electrical Engineering - desired
Skills:
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Computer savvy – skilled in the use of software
  • Integration – joining people, processes or systems
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Resource management
  • German skills written and verbal are advantageous

Specialized Skills - Required:

  • Experience with automotive control modules
  • Experience with automotive control module root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication networks
  • Experience with Volkswagen electronics control modules
  • Automotive control module development experience

Specialized Skills - Desired:

  • Knowledge of automotive control module suppliers, particularly in the NAR
  • Experience working with electrical developers in a Germany
  • German language skills

Work Flexibility:

  • Frequently traveling to the suppliers and the R&D department in Wolfsburg, Germany
  • Occasional road testing for testing release of control modules
