We are currently searching for an experienced (Mid Level) Estimator to support FEMA’s Task Order request - Location: Santa, NM or nearby area offices.

What you’ll be doing:

• Required to sketch, write estimates, label, and annotate photos in Xactimate from field inspectors, according to program standard of work
• All estimates will be written in Xactimate online
• Make corrections on Xactimate estimates according to program standards of work
• May be required to perform damages assessment inspections
• May be required to meet with homeowners to perform damage assessment inspection
• May be required to perform construction inspections
• Good internet connection
• Use of own tools and equipment, and computers

• Deployment: May-June 2024 timeframe, deploy to Santa Fe, NM
• Any positions requiring on-site support should anticipate travel/deployment to the following counties in New Mexico: San Miguel County, Mora County, Santa Fe County, Taos, County, Sandoval County, Rio Arriba County, and/or Colfax County, and all other surrounding counties affected by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire.
• Duration: 1 year

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years of experience in a related field

OR

And

• Should have thorough knowledge of PA eligibility, law, regulations, and policies, and familiarity with other FEMA Programs (e.g., Individual Assistance, Hermit’s Peak Program, etc.).
• Should have experience utilizing Xactimate.
• Spanish speaking highly encouraged
• Other recommended qualifications:
  • Policy Interpretation: ability to understand complex insurance policy language, including exclusions, endorsements, and coverage limits;
  • Damage Assessment: Proficient in assessing property, flooding, and/or fire-related damage accurately, which involves understanding the extent of damage, the required repairs, required documentation, and the associated costs;
  • Clear and Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge and ability to explain policy and regulations to claimants, FEMA Navigators, and other stakeholders;
  • Use of Technology: Proficiency in using claims management software, databases, and other technology tools that facilitate claim processing, documentation, and communication.
