Volanno is Hiring a Remote Programmer / Analyst

Description

Volanno is seeking a full stack Senior I Developer that performs programming duties including design, specifications development, and system implementation. The team member will be expected to participate in coding, unit and functional testing, debugging and deploying software to production and test environments in an Agile environment. This position also provides Tier II and III customer support as needed. We are looking for an individual with a passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas. 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a developer working on web and backend applications. 
  • Ability to provide development, support, and troubleshooting of multiple applications using technologies including C# .NET and ASP.NET. 
  • Proven software development experience in C# .NET and ASP.NET programming at intermediate or advanced level using Windows services, MVC with Razor. 
  • Knowledge of front-end web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX etc. 
  • Familiarity with SQL-type databases and their declarative query languages in order to understand legacy systems integrated with new technologies.
  • Strong skills working with SQL Server.
  • Strong skills with IIS webservers.
  • Familiarity with consuming content by use of APIs formatted in JSON and XML. 
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Bitbucket.
  • Experience with jQuery and plugins.
  • Understanding accessibility and security compliance for the federal government.
  • Strong knowledge of the common .NET or web server exploits and their solutions.
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
  • Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
  • Experience developing Windows Services in .NET Framework 4.0 using LINQ/Entity framework.
  • Strong database skills including writing SQL queries, writing SQL stored procedures, and optimizing queries and indexes for large data sets.
  • Provides Tier II and Tier III support after hours on an on-call basis.

Desired Skills:

  • Scrum Developer training or experience.
  • Experience with .NET Core.
  • Previous work within a containerized environment such as Docker.
  • Understanding the principles of Continuous Integration.

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
  • Public trust or higher clearance from a federal agency.
