Business context & key challenges:
VoCoVo has achieved immense growth in its domestic market over the past 5 years attaining many well-known retail brands as its customers. Our aim is to deliver the ‘connected store’ to all of our new and existing customers, making retail tasks seamless and efficient.
PDM candidates require the following personal skills and experience to help us achieve this:
(i) Planning and managing uncertainties: They actively engage in project planning and estimation, preparing for potential challenges and changes with internal colleagues across multiple simultaneously run delivery projects.
(ii) Overcoming challenges: They proactively identify potential issues considering store planning and surveys, stock availability and fulfilment, installations and remedial work, networking and client partners, InfoSec, ongoing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line Support, and they take or direct action(s) to prevent anything from hindering progress.
(iii) Problem-solving abilities: Their role in maintaining delivery momentum often requires them to address and resolve issues promptly.
(iv) Advanced certifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner or a Professional Scrum Master to add depth to their Agile expertise.
(v) Engaging with senior management: They maintain open lines of communication with high-level interested parties, effectively advocating for their team.
(vi) Communication: They're adept at effectively communicating and negotiating with senior-level management.
(vii) Sound commercial and financial management: They oversee project budgets and commercial contracts.
Key Accountabilities
How the PDM’s performance is measured:
1. Ensure the customer project sponsor and program managers are happy!
a. Store feedback remains positive - proactive listening and the collection of CSAT/NPS data.
b. When issues do occur, they’re openly communicated and resolved to the customers.
satisfaction and requirement - responses captured and recorded.
c. Projects are delivered on schedule and meet all contract terms.
d. Attend and come prepared to all project board meetings for high value projects.
e. Arrange post project reviews with the customer’s PM and sponsors to capture their Hi’s and Lo’s for ongoing performance focus
2. Strong contract and negotiation skills.
a. Build clear and concise SoW & MSA documents to optimise and manage the accountability of engineering partnership performance.
b. Work closely with our legal team to agree contracts, terms and conditions and statements of works, ensuring VoCoVo is protected in line with our risk matrix before final executive sign off.
c. It’s important we win the engineering opportunities for customer roll out programs, to achieve this we must price our contractor, plus VoCoVo’s professional service margin competitively.
d. Confidently negotiate with engineering partners by consistently showing skills of adult: adult negotiation.
3. Engaging and reliable for internal and external stakeholders
a. Liaise and hold strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring they are involved at the right time with projects/opportunities.
b. Understand the customer's budget cycle in line with the VoCoVo sales cycle to be able to accurately forecast and confidently land live projects and opportunities.
