As a technical Engineering Manager, you will own key components of our data pipeline and platform. You will be interfacing with product management, our UI team, and other groups, internal and external to VMware, to define and deliver the required solutions. You will participate in all phases of software development including requirements, design, coding, unit testing, debugging and performance tuning to help deliver scalable solutions. Our technology stack includes 50 dockerized JAVA/Spring-based micro services and many AWS services including Lambda, Kinesis, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Redshift, Glue, EMR/Spark and Sagemaker. You will be contributing towards a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and exemplifying best practices. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced and passionate engineers across Atlanta, Bangalore, Beijing, and Palo Alto. Prefer US Citizen to support FedRAMP customers and deployment

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• You develop a solid understanding of the WS1 Intelligence platform.
• You will provide technical leadership and direction to the team and help remove obstacles.
• You participate in design, coding, and debugging.
• You help engineers in architecting and designing reusable, high-performing scalable systems
• You will advocate for a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

• You will hire, mentor, and motivate engineers.
• You will provide ongoing feedback and work with engineers on their professional development.
• You will actively participate in coding, code reviews of pull requests to help the team continuously improve.
• You will work in multi-functional agile team to regularly deliver on new objectives with end-to-end responsibility for your team’s goals.
• You are an integral part of the team’s on-call responsibilities.
• You seek out ways to improve our development practices and tooling.

For US based candidates, the annual pay range (OTE for commissioned roles; Salary for other roles) for this position is: $116,000 - $277,000. The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
