VLS Environmental Solutions is Hiring a Controller, Regional - Southeast Region Near Mauldin, SC

We are looking for a driven, forward-thinking Regional Controller to oversee multiple sites and serve as a Business Partner for our Regional VP and Facility Managers in the Southeast region (SC, GA, FL). The successful candidate will help develop others, will anticipate the accounting needs of the regional division, and will work with the leadership of operations to help maximize assets.
JOB DUTIES
  • Manage the supervision and coordination of the accounting operations for multiple sites in the Southeast region. Including but not limited to all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and help develop the Accounting Manager, creating an atmosphere that promotes positive growth culture.
  • Closely monitor the region’s financial health, maintaining, managing, and analyzing financial statements, payroll, budgets, tax compliance issues, and more.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and Analysis, and KPI’s for the region or division.
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
  • Produce monthly profit and loss and balance sheets for assigned entities.
  • Provide updates and explain complex financial/accounting concepts for others to understand.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and at least 10 years of experience that combines management, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting, and detailed analysis.
  • Experience partnering with executive management as a trusted financial business partner providing guidance and driving results.
  • A CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel (Lookups and Pivot Tables), SAP or other ERP system and data analysis skills.
  • Confidence, effective communication skills and the ability to present to senior business leaders and be persuasive.
  • Leadership and experience managing junior staff members.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Skill in analyzing and reporting financial data.
  • Skills in information gathering and research on state and local tax issues.
  • Skill in producing a monthly profit and loss statement.
