Vizion Health, Llc is Hiring a RN Shift Supervisor Near Tulsa, OK

Brookhaven Hospital has openings for RN Shift Supervisors. The RN Shift Supervisor assumes administrative and technical responsibilities for the assigned unit of service on their designation shift and coordinates activities of nursing personnel on other shifts as applicable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the patient care staff
  • Provides ongoing management and supervision of the unit of service to promote the overall quality of patient care services
  • Makes decisions regarding activities within the unit of service based on administrative operational standards, nursing administrative standards, human resource standards, and standards of care for the unit with collaboration with the Department Director in unusual situations
  • Assumes responsibility for nursing department schedule at the beginning of the assigned shift, makes assignments based upon patient need and staff competency, ensure all gaps in coverage are filled and coordinates last-minute staff shortages. and daily hour reports
  • Provides supervision of licensed and UAP staff on the designated shift to ensure compliance with facility policies and expectations
  • Counsel and make recommendations for disciplinary actions. Complete paperwork for verbal counseling and written warnings. Consult with the Department Director regarding disciplinary actions that need completion. Conduct disciplinary hearing in the absence of the Department Director
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to processes that improve quality of care and utilization of staff
  • Promote initiative and problem solving techniques in staff by service as a positive role model and as a preceptor to all nursing departmental staff
  • Address emergency situations as they occur to maximize patient and staff safety
  • Communicate with interdisciplinary team, administrative team, providers, other stakeholders verbally and in writing all pertinent information occurring during designated shift
  • Assist with weekly/monthly audits and quality indicators
  • Other duties as requested by the Director of Nursing 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Oklahoma
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing Required
  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience in nursing supervision
  • Prior experience with staff training and improvement preferred

PHYSICAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to transfer, with assistance, clients who weigh over 100 pounds (heavy lifting)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch to assess clients
  • Ability to manipulate small and large technical objects
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and process information accurately
