Company Title: Formulation Scientist – Starter Cultures
Role Overview: You will fill a valued role in the process of making starter cultures for our dairy fermentation products by creating blend formulations using a set recipe for products with different lot codes of material bulk. This will include receiving and fulfilling product order requests, reviewing, and interpreting quality control information and assigning material appropriate for the final product’s application. You will also understand a general overview of manufacture processing, manage product inventory, and perform general laboratory duties to support the product line.
Responsibilities
- Receive order and formulate orders by shipping deadline
- Communicate results and troubleshooting across departments
- Maintain proper documentation and record keeping for all responsibilities
- Apply problem solving capabilities to customer shipping and production needs
- Analyze Quality Control (QC) data in regards to customer needs and product applications
- Perform lab techniques when and if necessary for customers
- Understand product line, production process for finished products and their application
- Fulfill any additional requests from supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, associate degree or equivalent in Food Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Processing/Engineering or related field is valued but not required
- High School Diploma or GED with a demonstrated interest in science is required
- Formulation experience highly valued
- Laboratory experience is valued but not required
- Mastered aseptic technique is valued but not required
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills
- Capabilities to act as a strong independent and key team player
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, collaborating efficiently across teams
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
- Good work ethic and enthusiastic learner
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Advanced multitasking abilities in order to address different projects congruently
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs
- Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
Expected Scheduling: Full Time, 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
