Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing Vivint supplier quality program focusing on identifying, developing, and implementing supplier performance improvement strategies to deliver the best quality products and services to our customers. Your technical ability, problem-solving skills, and communication skills are key to troubleshooting, diagnosing, and driving issue resolution and prevention with suppliers.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensures supplied part failure analyses and corrective and preventative actions are accomplished efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives/projects and review/communicate the impact on Supplier Quality Activities.
  • Lead supplier development strategy, designing the metrics for the function and supplier performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Create, issue, monitor, and assure completion and effectiveness of Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
  • Promote the use of continuous improvement techniques such as Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Monitor, communicate, and improve key supply chain KPIs, supplier escapes DPPM, and waste.
  • Provide leadership in identifying, articulating, and resolving supplier problems related to First Article Inspections, line rejects, and warranty.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing Supplier Quality team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements.
  • Manage incoming inspection documents, and workflow, being responsible for elaborating, updating, and coordinating incoming inspection plans.
  • Provide supporting leadership to the New Product Introduction process including but not limited to technical review and readiness with innovation partners, manufacturing capacity, refurbishment, and returns management strategy.
  • Acts as a liaison between engineering and suppliers to promote design for manufacturability.
  • Works with purchasing function to establish and communicate quality requirements to external suppliers and ensure timely delivery of compliant parts to production.
Required Skills and Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Must have 3 years of Supplier Quality Engineering leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO) and ISO Auditor training/certification is preferred.
  • Experience with test and measurement tools.
  • Has a flexible approach to change, can work effectively in a variety of situations, constantly seeks improvement, and is forward-looking.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and overseas.
  • Demonstrate a passion to succeed, inspire, and motivate the team.
  • Strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to facilitate informed and timely decisions and mediate tradeoffs with various groups to deliver a product on time and ready for market.
  • Deliver clear, concise professional verbal and written communication that is appropriate to the situation and audience. Including commitment to transparency, and stakeholder-based communication.
  • Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to clearly communicate with both business and technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated quality assurance expertise and ability to improve products or services by applying professional and technical knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in changing situations.
  • Solid analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems.
