WORK HOURS: Full Time Nights (7P-7A) for 36 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Intensive Care Department highlights: 

We are so excited about our new 24-bed ICU that specializes in Trauma and Neuroscience patient populations. We offer 24/7 Trauma Intensivist and Neuro Critical Care Intensivist programs which provides exceptional critical care patient oversight. Our staffing ratio depends upon acuity and is typically 2:1.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

EDUCATION:

• Diploma Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing required;

• BSN preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required;

• One or more years of ICU experience

• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.

• RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

• BCLS upon hire – Require upon Hire

• ACLS upon hire - Require upon Hire

• CPI within 30 days of hire

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
