In this role, you are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Resident Care Duties: Provide skilled, medically necessary speech and language therapy assessments as wellas develop and implement individualized treatment plans to increase client’sindependence and functioningProvide aural rehabilitation for client’s who are deaf or hard of hearingProvide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals withsevere expressive and/or language comprehension disordersProvide training and education to client, family, caregivers and other professionals as asubject matter expertCoordinate and collaborate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowingprocedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered by physicianSupervise as appropriate, provisional licensees, students including Clinical Fellowshipyear externs (CFY) and support personnel in accordance with state licensurerequirements and professional standardsDemonstrate competent technical skills according to current Speech Therapy standardsof practiceCommunicate changes in resident’s conditionParticipate in collaborative care conferences and discharge planningProvide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentationRespond to family requests and concerns timelyCoordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other Care staffAssure resident abuse or neglect does not occurObserve confidentiality and safeguards for all patient informationDepartment Duties: Assist with training and education of facility and professional partnersPerform screening rounds as directed by Director of Rehabilitation to assess for clientneeds and environmental safetyProvide recommendations to Director of Rehab and other team members opportunitiesfor business improvement, safety concerns or other updatesParticipation in SLP student development and educational programsEnsure compliance with mandatory education, training and competency programsAssist in maintaining cleanliness and tour readiness of the therapy departmentPerforms other duties as assigned SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:Effective and efficient time management skillsSufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks requiredPrevious experience and knowledge to provide appropriate care in post acute or longterm care environment (preferred)Knowledge of current Speech Therapy practices and procedures including laws,regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilitiesCurrent, unencumbered, active Colorado Speech Therapy License (required)Current ASHA certificationBLS certification as requestedVital Stim certification as requestedWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer
