POSITION TITLE: Director of Rehabilitation (Licensed PT, OT, SLP)REPORTS TO: Nursing Home Administrator & Director of Clinical Reimbursement DEPARTMENT: Clinical ReimbursementThe primary responsibility of the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) is to successfully oversee all therapy departmental functions in conjunction with the center's clinical and financial operational goals. The Director provides administrative supervision and requires extensive knowledge with management of all therapy clinicians. In this role, you are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Resident Care Duties: Plan, develop and implement clinical operational strategy for overall quality, effective and financial viabilityResponsible for overall clinical quality, integrity, and service excellence for the therapy departmentMonitor rehabilitation assessment and treatment delivery for evidence based skill and medical necessity compliance in all rehab environmentsDevelop and implement clinical rehab programs to meet client needs and promote new business opportunitiesProvide therapy assessments, as well as, develop and implement individualized treatment plans to increase client’s independence and functioningSupervise discipline specific assistants, students, volunteers and support personnel in accordance to state requirements and professional standardsIdentify clinical need to make referrals to other disciplines to address comprehensive care needs of the clientCommunicate changes in resident’s conditionParticipate in collaborative care conferencesParticipate in discharge and community mobility planningPrescribe necessary durable medical equipment to facilitate independence Provide accurate and timely billing records and supervise supporting clinical documentationSupervise and delegate screening rounds to assess for client needs and environmental safetyDemonstrates compliance with all job description requirements of discipline specific job position Function as a staff therapist as caseload requires Business Clinical Operations Recruit, hire, manage, direct and professionally develop therapy staffAssure all therapy clinicians are compliant with active licensure and demonstrate competency within professional standards of all therapy personnelMaintains efficient and effective department operation of all clinicians while enforcing compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards and protocolsBusiness and financial operations management to exceed goals and expectationsDemonstrates initiative and identifies opportunities to deal with issues including customer complaints, associate related issues including staffing, retention, recruitment, turnover, communication, performance management, including satisfaction surveys, regulatory compliance, QAPI, turnover, department meeting minutesPrepares reports regarding rehabilitation services, ie. utilization, compliance audits, performance improvement, service data, outcome data, productivityMaintains records pertinent of personnel and operation of the departmentMaintains consistency with policies and procedures with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliabilityCommunicates professionally, positively and works cooperatively with patients, families and other employees at all levelsAssist in formulating budget, evaluate departmental performance and takes appropriate action to remain in budgetary guidelinesMaintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards and protocolsRespond to family requests and concerns timelyCoordinate and provide training with Nursing, Restorative Nursing, Dietary and other Care staffAssure resident abuse or neglect does not occurProvide education and training to patient, caregiver, and community partnersObserve confidentiality and safeguards for all patient informationPerform other guidelines that pertain to setting and population served Understanding of payer reimbursement and strategyKnowledge of competency proficiency areas including patient care, program development, supervisory responsibilities, documentation and therapy software responsibilities, patient rights, and safety and sanitation Working knowledge computer and software applications used in job functions including Google, Microsoft office, and Rehab Optima Software preferredEXPERIENCE:Clinical and supervisory experience in skilled nursing or post acute rehab environmentMinimum three (3) years therapy related experience preferredMinimum two (2) years skilled nursing rehabilitation management preferredEDUCATIONCurrent, unencumbered, active licensed therapist in the field of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathologist BSL/CPR as requestedWORK ENVIRONMENT:Moves intermittently during working hours Is subject to frequent interruptionsIs involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstancesIs subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc. Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, holidays and in other positions temporarily, when necessaryIs subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminantsIs subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B virusesMay be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicalsDrives frequently in company or personal automobileUses computer and cellular telephone frequentlyMay be requested to assist with patient care and/or administrative assistance in other communities as neededPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Frequent squatting, twisting, and reaching; Frequent walking and standingOccasional resident handling, transferring and lifting from floor over 100 poundsOccasional crawling, climbing,
