Viva First is the first free mobile banking app and Visa™ debit card designed with the Latino community in mind. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help drive innovation. This software engineer should be passionate about full-stack and mobile application development. This engineer will play an instrumental role in building products that service the Viva First customer base.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack web/mobile application development in JavaScript and Typescript
• Work closely with our PM and design team to define feature specifications and build products leveraging frameworks such as React & React Native
• Work closely with operations and infrastructure to build and scale back-end services
• Regularly participate in code reviews and other team functions
• Lead development of the next-generation mobile application to power the Viva First digital banking experience.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
• Strong CS fundamentals and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and with 3rd party technology providers
• Experience programming in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: JavaScript, Java, Python, C/C , or Go
• Experience with the following is required: Typescript (Which runs on Node.js), GraphQL, AWS, React Native, React
• Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
• The ability to discuss and explain system architecture and component design
• Experience designing, building, and deploying mobile applications in the iOS and Android stores.
• Financial Technology experience is preferred.
