Overview

The inventory specialist will oversee the ordering, storing, receiving and distribution processes of Vitro's glass products and supplies. Their main duties will include the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking and analyzing inventory. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in inventory management processes and have the ability to resolve any issues that arise. 

In accordance with California law, the expected hourly rate for this California position is $20-$25/ hr 

Responsibilities

Evaluate plant inventory SKU by SKU.

Identify inventory surpluses, deficits and dead inventory

Organize and participate in cycle counts

Complete any and all glass ticket transactions

Generate weekly inventory metrics – shipments, tons in house and wrapped packs

Create lists for warehouse moves and inventory discards

Audit warehouse bays and cullet locations

Process inbound glass shipments and customer returned glass

Organization of inventory layout to maximize efficiency of loading high moving SKUs to loading docks.

Assisting and communication of zoning plan to warehouse employees. 

Maintain accurate data in Vitro’s Warehouse Management System

Assit with processing inbound loads 

Process customer returned glass

Qualifications

• Working knowledge and experience in Inventory Management
• Ability to work irregular hours if required and/or travel throughout the plant for inventory purposes
• Attention to detail as well as work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work with others while remaining professional, tactful and courteous
• Knowledge of personal computers and related equipment is essential

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Standing / Walking/ Sitting

Lifting / Carrying – Occasionally lifting and carrying items under 20 pound range.

Pushing / Pulling – generally in short periods of 10 to 15 minutes will be required.

Climbing / Balancing – when moving over/under machinery or gaining access to basement or silo areas, for example, may be required.

Twisting / Bending – The ability to bend at the waist and twist/rotate waist may be required.

Reaching / Handling – as needed

Feeling – The environmental factors noted above require the employee to be capable of detecting and reacting to the full range of potential hazards, specifically heat.

Talking / Hearing / Smelling –maintain awareness of their total environment when completing the functions noted, talking to team members, responding to oral instructions and emergency situations. The ability to detect changes due to, for example, heat, and chemicals used in plant is critical to both normal and emergency situations.

Vision – Visual Acuity – Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

Depth Perception – Perceive three dimensionally.Color Vision – Ability to identify and distinguish colors
