Vitro Architectural Glass was formed from two globally proven legacies in commercial glass manufacturing: PPG and Vitro. It all started in 1883, when Captain John Baptiste Ford and John Pitcairn, Jr. founded Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. Soon after, Roberto Sada Muguerza founded Vitro Glass in 1909. In 2016, the industry mantel that PPG carried in the US was passed to Vitro, establishing it as the largest glass manufacturer in North America.

Responsibilities

The position coordinates various plant accounting functions, including cost accounting, monthly closing, inventory controls, plant production reporting and cost analysis. Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger in SAP. Assists the Director of Information and Financial Services in assessing the adequacy of internal controls and implementing corrective actions as necessary. The position will be responsible for developing various aspects of the plant’s cost budget and ensuring that the cost and general accounting systems are updated to be consistent with the budget. The position will function as a back up to the Director of Information & Financial Services

• Process daily, weekly and monthly cost reports.
• Update cost data for corporate reporting.
• Audit Cycle counts.
• Prepare reports for local management on a weekly basis.
• Review general ledger entries to ensure the accuracy of the data.
• Daily Budget Administrator for the FM module in SAP.
• Prepare cost models as needed.
• Develop various aspects of the plant’s cost budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree, with Accounting emphasis or major.

Minimum of 2 plus years of progressively more responsible business experience.

Detailed knowledge of accounting principles.

Highly effective communication and organizational skills are essential.

Skilled in using Microsoft programs.
