Responsibilities:

- Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses

- Take accurate measurements of patients' eyes and facial features

- Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists

- Help patients choose frames that suit their style and budget

- Adjust frames to ensure proper fit and comfort

- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance

- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses

- Maintain accurate records of patients prescriptions and orders

- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive eye care

Skills:

- Knowledge of optical systems and equipment used in the field

- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation

- Proficiency in retail math for pricing, discounts, and sales calculations

- Understanding of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality

- Strong retail sales skills to effectively communicate with customers and promote products

- Basic knowledge of vital signs measurement for pre-screening purposes

- Experience in retail management or customer service is a plus

- Knowledge of senior care considerations in selecting eyewear options

- Understanding of basic physiology related to vision and eye health

• 1-2 years of optical experience
