Qualified candidates will be results-focused, self-directed, data-driven and have the ability to adapt easily to the changing needs of the business and our customers. This is a hands-on position. You will be working with the risk management, EHS, engineering and manufacturing teams to identify trends and work to implement preventative measures to limit failure of product and processes.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

Ability to coach, mentor, and develop a technical team to achieve group objectives.

Critical thinking and process-oriented mindset to resolve open issues and focus on continuous improvement throughout the team.

S. in Electrical Engineering; or equivalent education and experience.

3 7 years experience managing and leading technical staff; engineering manager, supervisor, or other technical team lead.

Experience with UL, IEC, FCC, and similar standards for electrical system design and regulatory compliance.

Substantial knowledge of embedded system design, firmware and software code creation, review, and control.

Experience with EPLAN Electric P8, Altium Designer, and Embedded Software development in C.

Ability to manage many concurrent projects while maintaining a high level of productivity to complete projects on time.

Knowledge of programable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and Industrial Ethernet communication protocols is desirable

Summary Engineering Manager, Electrical and Automation

Plays a key role in achieving strategic objectives, and in developing innovative products focused on shaping the future of industrial mobility. Aids in the development of new core competencies within the engineering department.

Coaches, develops, and leads a group of electrical engineers, automation engineers, and application engineers to support the larger engineering team to complete design, verification, validation and release-to-production activities.

Accountable for on-time completion of large projects, new product developments, and customer/product support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include

Assures timely completion of Controls and Automation design tasks in support of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), with specific attention to revenue-generating requests.

Reviews and approves ECOs, design packages, bills of materials, firmware/software, math data, and other technical documentation.

Provides leadership and know-how to the Controls and Automation team; supports system design analysis, circuit analysis, software code reviews, and associated validation activities.

Coaches, evaluates, and works to develop direct reports to assure they have the required skills and appropriate resources.

Assist additional engineering teams, provides electrical and automation engineering expertise to complete large cross-functional projects.

Supports research and development activities; creates appropriate designs of experiments and provides feedback to product management to guide development.

Reviews design risk assessment, verification, and validation activities as required to assure products and provided solutions will meet customers technical and contractual requirements.

Designs and validates embedded hardware systems, schematics, and PCB assemblies; Develops and validates embedded software in C.

Programs microcontrollers and PLCs to process I/O signals and assure robust error-free communications.

Assures engineering work follows established design and quality practices in accordance with company and department policy.

Reviews Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and provides support to address root cause and close issues.

Travels to support engineering teams at both US CoE facilities as needed (Omaha, NE and Harlan, IA).

Coordinates engineering activities across all engineering teams with the Director of Engineering, and Engineering Managers.

Assist the Director of Engineering and Engineering Management staff, providing budgetary details in support of testing for projects and customer specific opportunities.

Supports corporate strategic objectives and upholds the companys core values.

Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities

Supervises a group of Electrical Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Application Engineers that support our Control and Automation products.

Interviews, hires, and trains employees. Completes 1 on 1s at a frequency appropriate for each direct report, assesses employee performance, and corrects behaviors when needed.

Provides leadership, know-how, and completes performance reviews for the team.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualified candidates will possess the following
