The Operations Manager is responsible for executing the financial and organizational goals set forth by the Site Manager through planning, coordination, and allocation of available resources. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Site Manager.Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead the manufacturing team to drive manufacturing efficiency, excellence and create a high performance work culture dedicated to continuous improvement
  • Work with Site Manager to develop and execute strategic plans to support organizational and financial goals
  • Oversees the daily workflow of production
  • Create and achieve operating performance targets and improvements including cost reductions, reduced cycle times, and reduced lead times
  • Annual review with Site Manager on departmental budgets and allocation
  • Manage and delegate responsibilities of all Supervisors
  • Manage production schedule and ensure all production parts are being delivered on schedule
  • Structure agenda and lead weekly team meetings
  • Generate work orders and review work instructions for completeness and accuracy
  • Support quality department to ensure product specifications are being met and agreed upon
  • Oversee the transfer of products from R&D to production level through line implementation, process validation, hiring, constraint & capacity management, etc.
  • Ensure departmental decision and project plans such as staffing, supplies, hardware/software acquisitions, and facility restructures are in line with organizational goals and budget
  • Refine pertinent Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for each functional area that measure performance, guide improvement, and communicate progress
  • Present and review periodic productivity reports (KPIs) with Site Manager and other executives
  • Identify and communicate training needs with HR and ensure adequate training is developed and provided
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management level staff in the department
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or other industry-related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in the medical device field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
  • Ability to hold presentations and speak publicly for extended periods of time
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred
  • Experience with braided/coiled catheter shafts
  • Six Sigma or LEAN manufacturing
