Full Description

VitalCheck Wellness, on behalf of Photon Medical Group, is seeking a culturally sensitive and compassionate Physician to provide comprehensive physical assessment and care. Patient care will be provided in-person and virtually at one of NYC Health Hospitals’ Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers (HERRCs) making a difference in the lives of migrants.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physical health assessments for all clients entering the Arrival Center as initial triage, as well as onsite at HERRC facilities as required, including but not limited to:
  • Injury
  • Illness
  • Physical Exams
  • Vaccinations
  • X-Ray and On-Site Lab Services
  • Pediatric
  • COVID-19 Testing & Services
  • Urgent Care (virtual in person)
  • Orthopedic
  • Blood Testing
  • Medication dispensation and prescriptions
• Planning and executing clinical outreach campaigns, either at targeted sites or at all sites within the vendor’s purview, in response to specific needs such as; completing all required reporting to Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for related infectious disease diagnoses (i.e. varicella case reports).

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board certified in family practice.
• Valid and clean license to work in New York.
• 3 years of post-qualification experience as a Physician.
• Background in family practice, urgent care, or emergency room.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in community-based services, shelters, immigrants; volunteer or mission experience with disaster relief, refugee, humanitarian relief, preferred.
• Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Bilingual in Spanish a Plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records systems.
• Must be able to commute to New York City and Boroughs.
