Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of medical equipment used in patient care. Your attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols will contribute to the overall success of our healthcare facility. This position will rotate out to 4 sites within the area, night shifts only available at this time, 10-hr and 14-hr shifts required.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment following established protocols and guidelines
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to specifications
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and washer-disinfectors
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred but not required
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and medical terminology
- Understanding of sterile processing principles and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
