Vital Care of Boise is Hiring an Infusion Nurse (PRN) Near Boise, ID

Job Description:

An Infusion Nurse is a licensed clinician who coordinates and provides direct patient care in the home or alternate treatment site to ensure patient safety with continuity and compliance related to infusion therapies provided to patients by the pharmacy. The Infusion Nurse may also provide direct patient care to infusion therapy patients, and is responsible to assess actual and potential patient problems, as well as planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in coordination with the registered pharmacist. The Infusion Nurse has an active patient education role, and interacts extensively with the pharmacy staff to plan and implement patient scheduling, deliveries, and clinical assessment. Works under the direct supervision of the designated supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiates, develops and implements nursing plan of treatments; evaluating patient progress towards goals. Organizes and participates in the provision of direct patient care, performs treatments, administers medications, and educates patients and families/caregivers. Modifies plan of treatment in response to changing patient status or physician orders to achieve established or revised patient care goals.
  • Assesses patient needs and physical status at each skilled visit through health data access and patient interview. Re-evaluates patient needs through physical reassessment, response to therapy, and supplemental physician orders.
  • Provides effective and safe teaching using patient-centered care approach for patient and family to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs through active participation per plan of treatment goals.
  • Effectively and timely communicates with pharmacy team, medical providers, patients and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care. Prepares clinical documentation in real-time during visits and submits to the pharmacy team to comply with established time lines for billing optimization.
  • Coordinates discharge planning and prepares discharge summaries with patient instructions and thoroughly reports patient care needs, progress and goals when transferring care.
  • Responds promptly and appropriately to patient requests. Initiates emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences and provides precepting, training, and mentoring to other nurses for orientation, and onboarding and supervisory activities as assigned.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing with the State Board of Nursing
  • Required: A minimum of three (3) years clinical experience
  • Required: a minimum of one (1) year experience in acute care or alternate site IV therapy
  • Required: Excellent interactive skills with employees, physicians, referral sources, and consumers
  • Preferred: IV certification (i.e., CRNI) or other infusion-related certification
  • Preferred: Nursing management experience

Physical Demand Requirements

  • May require lifting over 20 lb.
  • May require bending during patient procedures
  • May require frequent use of computer keyboard
  • Will require use of latex products unless nonlatex is provided for known sensitivities
  • May require moderate to extensive driving

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data.

Pay: $36.00 - $60.00 per hour
