Vital Care Infusion Services is Hiring a Regional Pharmacy Operations Compliance Technician Near Nashville, TN

Job Summary:

The Regional Pharmacy Operations Compliance Technician is responsible for completing ongoing, onsite surveillance and monitoring of Franchise pharmacy within the company including pharmacy, nursing (if applicable), administrative/clerical, and sales in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures. The Regional Pharmacy Operations Compliance Technician collects and evaluates the Franchise pharmacy through Franchise checklist, Accreditation readiness tools, Quality Site Assessment and other Franchisor metric tools and reports back to the Regional Director of Pharmacy Operations for further follow up. Maintains communications with Vital Care Infusion corporate offices on infusion and specialty business.
The Regional Pharmacy Operations Compliance Technician provides Vital Care related direction on policy, process and techniques to franchise pharmacy to reinforce compliance to federal, state, local regulations as well as Vital Care policy and procedures. The Regional Pharmacy Operations Compliance Technician reviews and recommends improvements in the activities of all pharmacy personnel, as well as quality control, performance improvement procedures and support staff under the supervision of the Regional Director of Pharmacy Operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Sr. Technician
  • Perform pharmacy management audit activities in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards as well as in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, demonstrating sound business knowledge, leadership, and stewardship attributes.
  • Uses available resources to gather information on the appropriate use of drugs, equipment, and patient monitoring in the home and Ambulatory Infusion Suites.
  • Observe and inspect the accreditation aspects of patient care and perform Quality Site surveys at franchise locations.
  • Acts as a resource to Franchise owners and staff to ensure high quality patient care, and efficient franchise operations.
  • Stays knowledgeable of current industry practice standards, and accreditation standards and incorporates them into daily practice.
  • Assists with employee orientation and preceptor responsibilities as needed.
  • Completes assigned paperwork/document as directed in a timely manner.
  • Take direction from the Regional Director of Pharmacy Operations.
  • Mentor technicians to promote leadership and supervisor growth and development.
Management of Non-Clinical Services
  • Inspect and report back the physical maintenance and organization of the facility.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Franchise ownership and VCIS.
  • Recommends and monitors the monthly activity making necessary observations and assist with plan of corrective actions.
  • Interviews, orients, and evaluates employees who manage company departments (i.e. pharmacy, nursing, office, sales, etc.).
  • Acts as a resource for individual departments and Franchise employees in resolving questions, problems, and issues.
  • Upholds local, state, and federal mandates on the provision of health care by professionals.
  • Acts to implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and protocols in providing service to consumers.
  • Is responsible for the performance improvement process, develops plans, assesses, improves, and maintains the quality of the company’s management, operational, and other important internal processes, and activities; assigns staff to performance improvement activities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Position requires 80% travel
  • Excellent interactive skills with employees, physicians, referral sources, and consumers
Education and Experience:
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) required with Certified in Compounded Sterile Preparations preferred (CSPT)
  • Business and financial understanding of operating a profitable business.
  • Previous lead technician or supervisory experience
  • Three years’ experience preferred in home infusion space
  • Experience with management of pharmacy support personnel preferred
