Key Accountabilities

Strong knowledge of all types of welding including HRSG repair and modification within the HRSG

Knowledge of and experience in several of the following skills : pipefitting, welding, machining, rigging, rotating machine repair, fabrication, machine alignment, basic vibration analysis, and using electrical / power equipment.

Knowledge of power plant mechanical and electrical equipment as well as safety policies and procedures, especially in the areas of high-energy systems, chemical handling, heavy equipment, rotating machinery, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, and first aid / CPR.

Experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of rotating equipment (pumps, mechanical seals, turbines, fans, bearings, gaskets, couplings, alignment, etc.).

Knowledge of heat recovery steam generators and related equipment, piping systems (valves, actuators, flanges, hangers, etc.

and lube oil, analysis, filtration & hydraulic oil systems

Support local start-up of all major equipment (turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, etc.)

Level of position will be determined by applicable skills / experience.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

High school diploma or GED

1-3 years of power or industrial plant mechanical maintenance experience

Experience with gas turbine combined cycle maintenance and welding qualification preferred.

Computer Skills : Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

Must possess a valid driver's license

All applicants (excluding applicants currently employed in specific positions in Fossil Generation) must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System / Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) in order to be considered a candidate for this position.

POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources.

Key Metrics

• Must be able to locate, trouble-shoot, and adjust defects in mechanical equipment.
• Should also possess knowledge and skills in basic mathematics; welding, cutting, and heating, mechanical safety, mechanical measuring and test equipment, mechanical prints and diagrams, fundamentals of layout, drilling, and tapping, basics of hoisting and rigging and the fundamentals of scaffolding.
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively.
• Operate plant equipment in a safe manner in accordance with EHS procedures (trucks, cranes, forklift).
• Shall be a leader in safety, upholding safety as a core value
