The organization generates positive economic impact across the tourism verticals of business events, sports, and leisure travel. VisitPITTSBURGH achieves its goals, including ensuring the region of certain economic benefits, through the combined efforts of all team members throughout the organization.

The Role

The Visitor Experience Representative is a crucial part-time position responsible for promptly and effectively addressing visitor inquiries through various communication channels. This role also involves processing mailing requests for informational materials and maintaining a tracking system for referrals to benefit our partnership team.

Essential Functions

• Visitor Inquiry Management:

• • Respond to all visitor inquiries via email, chat, text, WhatsApp, and phone, providing accurate and helpful information.
  • Ensure a positive and engaging interaction with visitors, leaving a lasting impression of Pittsburgh's hospitality.

• Mailing Requests Processing:

• • Process mailing requests for Insider Guides, See & Do Guides, and maps.
  • Coordinate with the Office Coordinator to timely and accurately distribute publications to individuals and companies.

• Referral Tracking:

• Track partnership referrals generated through visitor inquiries in IDSS.

• Other projects as assigned by Manager, Visitor Experience or Director, Destination Experience related to visitor experience for business event attendees or leisure visitors.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality, tourism, or a related field is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Excellent communication skills across email, chat, and phone channels.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to process and fulfill mailing requests accurately.
• Familiarity with Pittsburgh's attractions, events, and tourism resources is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call to respond to visitor inquiries during scheduled times.
• Experience in using tracking systems or databases to monitor and report referrals.
• Proactive problem-solving skills to address visitor inquiries effectively.
• Team player mentality and the ability to collaborate with other visitor experience staff.
