Visit Madison, Inc. is Hiring a Marketing Associate Near Madison, IN

The Marketing Associate is responsible for assisting the executive marketing director with tourism and event marketing. Monitoring market trends, create marketing/advertising campaigns, develop and maintain creative content calendars; supporting Visit Madison, Inc. tourism initiatives. Which includes but not limited to website management, social media, public relations, branding, sales, photography, marketing, advertising, graphic design, video production/editing, data analyzing, technology, as well as communication and coordination activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with engaging, monitoring and auditing social media channels; and staying abreast of trends
  • Manage content calendar and create content for multiple platforms, such as but not limited to: social media, website, blogs, travel writers/influencers/content creators & press releases
  • Maintain daily updates on VisitMadison.org
  • Maintain VMI monthly Email Marketing program
  • Maintain User Generated Content (UGC) platform
  • Maintain performance metrics relative to goals and analyze data for making decisions
  • Assist with developing and executing media relations to generate destination coverage
  • Assist with planning, implementing, and monitoring marketing campaigns and developing ways to improve
  • Assist with the production/management of the experience guide, marketing and collateral materials
  • Assist with promotional activities and event committees/organization(s)
  • Conduct research and analyze data to identify and define audiences
  • Document processes and procedures of the position

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ marketing experience in a role managing marketing communications/social media/developing marketing campaigns; Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills with rigorous attention to detail, multitasking and strong project/time management skills
  • Demonstrated passion and aptitude for marketing, travel & tourism industry a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, storytelling and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge with the following:

o Social Media Management/Strategy (Paid & Organic)

o Creative Content or Content Calendar Management/Strategy

o Data analytics (Google analytics certified and/or GA4 experience, social and/or other)

o Email/SMS Marketing

o Digital/Online Advertising

o Media relations principles/ Community engagement (social & otherwise) / Influence marketing

o Graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite a plus

o SEO and Web-base knowledge, WordPress a plus

  • Passion for creating campaigns that put the visitor at the center of the marketing experience
  • Team player with a willingness to jump in and help with any project, no matter how small
  • Event planning and execution is a plus.
