PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

The focus of this position is to help serve Jackson as a destination by providing bureau service to fulfill the needs of conferences, conventions, and meetings in Jackson. We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Generalist to oversee the inventory and delivery of our marketing materials and service items.

The ideal candidate will manage certain aspects of inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our iDSS inventory management operating system. Additionally, this role involves logistical support for events and meetings, including set-up and tear-down, and handling deliveries and distributions.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Maintain clear and accurate records of inventory levels and distribution activities.
• Manage and coordinate the storage, tracking, and distribution of brochures, service items, merchandise, and more.
• Receive and verify shipments, ensuring accurate counts of all inventories.
• Conduct regular physical inventory audits to verify stock, identify discrepancies, and avoid shortages.
• Regularly communicate with team members regarding inventory needs and delivery statuses.
• Assist with counting and packing boxes for clients.
• Assist with brochure mail-outs and delivery tasks.
• Timely and accurately deliver brochures and service items to designated locations.
• Organize and maintain the orderliness of the storage area.
• Provide logistical support for events, conferences, and information booths.
• Ensure compliance with safety and handling procedures.
• Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor and President/CEO.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Job Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Computer/Technology Skills:

• Must be proficient in basic computer applications.
• Moderate in Microsoft Office applications for managing spreadsheets and logs.

Other:

• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings may be required depending on distribution and event needs.
• Possess a current and valid driver's license.
• A clean driving record is required for this role.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Require minimal supervision.

Language Skills:

• Possess moderate verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:

• Must be physically able to perform manual tasks such as lifting, standing for long periods, and handling bulky items during event setups and teardowns.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50
• Must be able operate a motor vehicle.
