SUMMARY

Directs, coordinates, and oversees activities of Maintenance staff in repair and preventative maintenance programs; equipment installation; and related maintenance and repair to facilities and equipment. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Performs and oversees routine and preventative maintenance on machinery, systems, 

fixtures, and facility. 

2. Responds promptly to emergency repair needs.

3. Diagnoses equipment issues and implements effective solutions.

4. Reviews job orders to determine work priorities, schedule repairs, maintenance, and

installations to ensure continuous production operations and limited down-time.

5. Develops and maintains a comprehensive spare parts inventory and orders supplies, as 

needed.

6. Implements cost-saving measures regarding vendor selection, parts suppliers, and inventory 

management.

7. Oversees maintenance activities on utility systems to ensure a continuous supply of

necessary resources.

8. Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program in collaboration with 

engineering and maintenance staff.

9. Regularly inspects machines and equipment for operational standards compliance.

10. Maintains work logs, repairs, and other maintenance records.

11. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for proper equipment care.

12. Assists and advises technicians on machine functions and setup to meet production goals.

13. Manages outside vendors and technical service providers.

14. Participates in continuous improvement such as LEAN manufacturing, 5S, Root Cause 

Analysis, etc. 

15. Ensures facility and equipment compliance with local, regional, and other regulatory bodies. 

16. Works with management, engineering, and quality control to resolve maintenance issues 

and recommend operational improvements.

17. Cooperates with other departments to meet customer requirements.

18. Determines staffing requirements, conducts interviews, and selects candidates for vacant 

positions.

19. Conducts evaluations of employee performance and implements corrective actions as 

necessary.

20. Facilitates performance improvement through coaching, mentoring, and training of staff.

21. Interprets and enforces company policies and safety regulations to maintain a safe and 

compliant work environment.

22. Promotes adherence to the quality system and ensure staff members are educated and 

compliant with quality system requirements.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

1. Performs activities of workers supervised.

2. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must have strong working knowledge of electronic logic systems, automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

2. Must have skills in each of the following areas: construction, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, shop equipment, and various testing equipment.

3. Must have computer skills, including proficiency in MRP, word processing applications, and all required in position.

4. Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.

5. Must have good hand tool skills and mechanical ability.

6. Must have inventory control and resourcing.

7. Must have basic drafting and engineering skills.

8. Must have the ability to organize and direct the activities of others.

9. Must be able to lift 35 lbs frequently and to push or pull 50 lbs frequently.

10. Must be able to work on a flexible schedule to include overtime, evening/nights, and weekends. 

11. Minimum five years experience as a maintenance technician. 

12. Previous injection molding maintenance experience preferred. 

13. Maintenance electrical license preferred.
