What is FinOps? Why is it so Important?
FinOps, short for Financial Operations, plays a crucial role in the Fintech industry by optimizing cloud costs, improving financial transparency, and aligning financial goals with business objectives. In the fast-paced world of Fintech, where companies rely heavily on cloud services for their operations, managing and optimizing cloud costs is essential.

The FinOps SME will Build, Test and Deploy a new reporting tool for Google Cloud Platform usage and billing.
Google Cloud Platform Reporting requirements for CMMs, Portfolio.


High level Requirements:

• Build Reporting for Committed Use Discounts (CUD), CUD Saving, Net Saving, CUD expiration, CUD wastage.
• Build Reporting for CUD underutilized.
• Build Reporting for Big Query (BQ) Slot reservations reports showing both CUD and BQ Slot monthly status.
• Build Reporting for Compute Reservations.
• Overwrite CUD Reports with manual inputs.
• Billed vs Compute Realized Discount Audit Reports.
• Status should include on demand usage, CUD and BQ Slot commitments/reservations, CUD/Slot usage and wastage by week/month/quarter.
• Report style should be standardized to other FinOps tool report formats as much as possible.
• All cost estimations, spend calculations, forecasting to be done with EDP Pricing
• All Savings to showcase Effective Discount On-Demand Pricing & Google List Pricing
• Alerts
  • Reservation Utilization Alerts; Setup and configuration
  • CUD expiration Alerts
  • Big Query expiration Alerts
• Reservation access groups
