We are looking for a motivated and experienced Production Planning Manager who will be responsible for all planning and purchasing activities for the strain gage, accessory, and photo-elastics product lines. The successful candidate will design planning and purchasing strategies that ensure constant availability of inventory to meet stocking and customer requirements within the company’s budget. They will also guide and assist the planning and purchasing teams and develop self-sustaining employees that can effectively work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • PLANNING: Design, implement, and maintain, with the planning team, a Master Production Plan that incorporates all requirements in order to meet shipment objectives (Quantity & $), customer satisfaction (on-time delivery, controlled cycle times), and provides order status for customer service and sales. Construct forecasts, analytical models, and operational and Business planning KPI’s. Follow-up on execution of all plans.
  • PURCHASING - Work with the Buying, Engineering and Operations teams to coordinate all purchasing activities to maintain production and production/facility support needs at planned levels. Develop and maintain a plan that addresses/controls PPV. Lead the supplier management system.
  • INVENTORY CONTROL - Maintain budgeted stock levels (Finished Goods, WIP, & Raw Materials) both in Wendell and international sales offices, inventory turns, and managing/minimizing aged/obsolete (slow and non-moving) stock levels.
  • CUSTOMER SUPPORT - Coordinates with Planning, Production Control, Logistics, and Customer Service to address all customer requirements and changes, including sales order confirmations, due dating, shipment issues, expedites, change notifications, etc.
  • TEAM DEVELOPMENT-MANAGEMENT – Develop, maintain and support an effective and dedicated staff. Provide guidance, leadership, and resource management where needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline. MBA a plus.
  • 10 years’ experience in production planning, master scheduling, purchasing, and material analysis in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Extensive knowledge/experience with ERP systems such as QAD, SAP, or Oracle, preferably in a yield-loss manufacturing environment desired.
  • Self-driven, experienced in people management and in motivating workers.
  • Supply Chain Management knowledge is a plus.
