Overview
Rescued Treasures and Production Assistant Manager is responsible for daily sales goals, opening and closing the store, coordinating activities of all workers during their shifts, dealing with customers and customer service issues. Also, they are able to function in and train for all positions that they oversee within the store. Accurate cash register operations (POS), generating sales, and upselling the “buy a meal/roundup” program. This position assists in the management of donation processing. Responsible for addressing store needs, including surplus and deficits of products and supplies, and working on displays and marketing. In addition, this role selects product inventory at the warehouse location and prices for the store. Responsible for the duties of the Manager in his/her absence. Flexible schedule including evenings and Saturdays required. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Essential Functions

  • Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers.
  • Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods.
  • Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements.
  • Upselling VRM “buy a meal” or “round up for a cause” at point of sale.
  • Instruct staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales.
  • Assist in training associates.
  • Assign employees to specific duties.
  • Enforce safety, health, and security rules.
  • Examine merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed.
  • Complete daily reconciling and deposits of sales revenue.
  • Assess new ways to organize the store to make room for more product and maximize use of space.
  • Keep track of and order supplies for the store.
  • Track and input important daily information such as hourly sales.
  • Price and stock new inventory.
  • Display product in a creative manner.
  • Make sure store’s cleanliness is sustained.
  • Sort and price product at warehouse for boutique as well as price product once it is at the store.
  • Receive shipments in from the warehouse. Price and put out the product to the sales floor.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and have a valid CA driver’s license.
  • Flexible Work Schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays).

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of retail management or similar experience. (preferred)
  • Excellent Customer Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy tactics and sales techniques.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize and accomplish your work.
  • Resolving Conflicts and Negotiating with Others- Handling complaints and resolving conflicts with others.
  • Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Subordinates- Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Coaching and Developing Others- identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Sales and Marketing – Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques.
  • Brands, Quality and Pricing – Being able to identify top fashion brands and their current market value price. Also translate that to a fair second hand price to the customer.
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of basic math including percentages and the ability to operate a calculator and a cash register.
  • POS System – Ability to use and navigate front and back office of POS system, enter new users, troubleshoot issues with support techs.
  • Computer – Navigate word and excel with competency. Use drop box to share files with store manager.
  • Email – Be able to effectively and professionally communicate via email with supervisors, vendors and other employees throughout the organization.

Physical Demands

  • Attendance and punctuality.
  • Mobility within the store.
  • Ability to stand in one place for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and kneel, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds repetitively throughout the day and up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle. Have a CA driver’s license.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Indoors in atypical office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes approximately seventy-five percent (75%) of the time.
  • Frequent computer use at workstation up to two hours at a time.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
  • May move (walk or drive) from one work location to another occasionally.

Compensation:

  • Pay is based on experience
  • Health benefits following 60 days of continuous employment. (Full-Time Employee’s ONLY)
  • Cal Savers option is available after 30 days of continuous employment.
