The Accounting Specialist role presents an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing firms in the industry and is a key player on the Accounting & Finance team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Creates invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to our clients.

•Works closely with the Client Success team on complex billings of single policies to multiple customers.

•Works with our wholly owned subsidiary to generate and track invoices and ensure current accounting records.

•Inputs receipt of Customer and Carrier payments into Agency Management Systems.

•Ensures accurate and timely payments to insurance carriers and for customer refunds while also coordinating necessary bank transfers.

•Researches discrepancies between system receivables and cash receipts ensuring final disposition of variances.

•Contributes to the creation of Producer Commission Statements verifying accuracy for the timely payment of Commissions.

•Records transactions in our general ledger, NetSuite.

•Produces timely and accurate account reconciliations.

•Assists with Vendor Accounts Payables.

•Other accounting and finance duties as requested by management.

•Takes the initiative to work with employees in all departments as needed to keep the work process moving.

Education and Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred. 

•1 to 3 years of related billing or accounting experience preferred.

•Must have familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel), and the ability to learn new software systems, Including Agency Management Systems.

•Demonstrated strong project management skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize workload.

•Salesforce and/or NetSuite experience a plus. 

•Position requires strong written and oral communication skills; a commitment to impeccable customer service is essential.
