Family Nurse Practitioner needed in Albuquerque, NM
We are currently seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join the fast-growing family of Albuquerque, NM hospitals and clinics.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Conducting comprehensive health assessments, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to diagnose acute and chronic health conditions.
· Developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, including prescribing medications, therapies, and other interventions to address patients' health needs. This may involve managing acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and preventive care services.
· Managing and monitoring patients with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and cardiovascular disease. This may involve medication management, lifestyle modifications, and regular follow-up care to optimize health outcomes and prevent complications.
· Providing timely evaluation and management of acute health problems, including injuries, infections, and minor surgical procedures, in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, physical examination findings, treatment plans, and follow-up care, in compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
· Establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with patients and families to provide continuous and coordinated care over time. This may involve managing ongoing medical conditions, monitoring health status, and addressing changing healthcare needs throughout the lifespan.
· Engaging in ongoing education, professional development activities, and quality improvement initiatives to stay abreast of current practices, guidelines, and advancements in the field of family medicine.
Required Qualifications:
· Previous experience working as a NP in family medicine, primary care, or a related specialty is often required or preferred.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building rapport with patients, effectively communicating medical information, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
· Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients and families.
· Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and sensitivity to patients' needs and concerns are essential qualities for providing patient-centered care and fostering trust and rapport with patients and their families.
· Nurse practitioners in family medicine must be detail-oriented and capable of accurately assessing patients, interpreting diagnostic data, and managing complex medical cases.
· Upholding professional standards of practice and adhering to ethical guidelines are critical in providing safe, quality care to patients.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner Program OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) or a related field from an accredited physician assistant program.
· Must have current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state where practice is intended or required.
· Annual continuing medical education as required by board specialty
· Must be registered and have current DEA
· Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association
