Position Description
Quality Assurance Analyst
Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000
Starting Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
The State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks 2 motivated professionals to join their Clerk's Office (CLK) Quality Assurance and Testing team. The Quality Assurance (QA) Analysts will perform complex system testing, quality assurance, quality control, and data validation measures for CLK systems. The selected candidates for this position will participate in the analyses of complex processes, internal assessments and audits, and the accuracy of records.
The QA Analysts will be responsible for:
  • the creation and maintenance of automated testing scripts, test plans, and regression testing plans;
  • the assessment of applications and/or systems under consideration for purchase;
  • assisting CLK personnel with application testing and communicating test progress and results with CLK leadership;
  • the development of new processes or adjustments to existing processes;
  • the creation and execution of QA processes related to validation of system and staff procedures to ensure quality outputs, increased efficiency; and
  • performing related work as assigned.
The QA Analyst positions will support the review of legislative changes for system impacts, help with large data cleanup efforts, and offer expertise to improve processes. The selected candidates for this position will interact with other state agencies as well as internal and external partners to ensure all CLK systems are operating as expected. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (generally 3 days of telework, 2 days in office each week) as well as training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications for this position include some experience in quality assurance, quality control, and system testing. With related experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required. Without related experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field is a minimum qualification for this position. Hands-on experience with 3rd party software/COTS and user acceptance testing is preferred. This position requires excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, analytical ability, and critical thinking skills. The ability to adapt to a continuously changing environment, handle multiple priorities, and work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment is critical for success. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the SCC and with external partners is required. Candidates for this position must have strong computer skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Any experience and/or knowledge of the functions performed in the Clerk's Office is considered a plus.
The anticipated salary range for a QA Analyst (Associate level, Grade P-7) with limited or no experience in quality assurance and a related college degree is $53,000 - $56,000.
The anticipated salary range for an experienced QA Analyst (Senior or Lead level, Grade P-9 or P-11) is $56,000 - $85,000 and will depend on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
