Registered Nurse – Pre-Op / PACUThe Virginia Eye Institute is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area, including eight locations and an ambulatory surgery center. We are searching for a Full Time Pre-Op / PACU Registered Nurse. This position will work with our very busy adult and pediatric ophthalmic multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center. The ideal candidate will be a team-player, self-starter, friendly, motivated, organized, and have the ability to work independently while sustaining a team environment. A caring demeanor and the ability to build and maintain patient rapport is critical. The candidate must be highly productive, eager to learn, and motivated to succeed. RESPONSIBILITIES:The position will work closely with patients to provide pre-operative and/or post-operative care for patients undergoing local, regional, or general anesthesia. This position provides excellent, individualized perioperative care with a focus on compassion and providing an excellent patient experience.REQUIREMENTS:Graduate from an accredited school or nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia, required.Previous PACU or critical care experience preferredBLS certification required, ACLS and PALS preferred (or obtain within eight weeks of start date) Job Type: Part-time The Virginia Eye Institute offers an excellent benefit package and a great work environment.
