This is a great opportunity for an experienced Payment posting candidate with previous Optometry experience interested in joining a multi-specialty practice. RESPONSIBILITIES:This position will be responsible for collecting, posting, and managing account payments. In addition, this position is responsible for payment reconciliations and research. This position will also be responsible for promoting HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times. Post patient payments, mail, or cash logsPost insurance payments via ERA, paper EOB, or spreadsheet EOBUnderstands carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reportsRun and work unapplied and encounter credits reportResolve incoming patient calls with excellent customer service skills Input payer addresses for new or changed payersBalance and reconciles payment totals on a daily basisDocument follow-up appropriately in the practice management systemPost adjustments, payment transfers, and refunds into Practice Management systemPerform other duties as assigned by management REQUIREMENTS:Previous experience with Optometry payment postingMinimum education: HS diploma or equivalent; prefer Associates degree or some college education in business, accounting, or medical billing/codingPrevious experience working in medical billing or payment posting Windows-based software applications (i.e. Word, Excel)Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors, physicians, management, and co-workersMaintains positive attitude and friendly demeanor with other team membersAbility maintain a high degree of confidentialityDemonstrates attention to detailWe offer a great work environment with competitive salary & benefits and continuing education and advancement programs.
