The Virginia Eye Institute is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area, including seven locations and an ambulatory surgery center. We are looking for a Healthcare Financial Analyst to join our team! The Financial Analyst will work closely with the CFO and Director of Revenue Cycle. The incumbent will provide financial insights and projections to the finance department. They will provide reliable data and analysis to be used in decision-making and planning. They will prepare accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.WHAT WILL YOU DO AS THE FINANCIAL ANALYST?Preparation of Monthly Financial Package and Monthly Revenue Cycle Dashboard for executive managementTrack KPIs against performance benchmarks and assist in forecasting and trend analysisDevelopment of departmental variances analyses using historical data and insightful prediction techniques to propose recommendationsDeveloping proformas for new services and other business relationships providing rationale and justification for positions takenDesigning reports that communicate performance, identify issues, and contribute to better management decisions including the identification of best practicesDeveloping profitability analyses for business using insightful, cost-driven based processesPreparation of monthly provider productivity reportingAnalyzing overhead including staffing requirements based on activity drivers, monitoring trends, tracking variances, and developing projections Initiating and leading process improvement initiatives inside the department as well as cross functionalityExtracting appropriate data from supporting systems and preparing ad hoc analyses and reports that serve to inform management and improve operationsSupporting leadership with insightful financial advice based on thorough analysesBuilds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the organizationPerforms other duties as assigned WHAT ELSE ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Demonstrates excellent financial and quantitative skills.Communicates effectively and has strong presentation skills.Works independently using project management skills.Builds strong working relationships and has exceptional leadership skills.Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications: 2 - 4 years of experience working as a financial analyst specifically in healthcare Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with AccessDevelopment experience in dashboard tools (Tableau, Power BI)Experience with Sage 300 ERP financial software with emphasis on report writingeClinicalWorks Practice Management software experience preferred The Virginia Eye Institute offers an excellent benefit package and a great work environment.
