The purpose of the Regional Director (RD) position is to provide regional management, supervision, and leadership to Virginia’s Department of Veterans Services (DVS) Virginia Veteran and Family Support (VVFS) program. The West RD reports to the VVFS Deputy Director and manages 9 offices and 11 personnel. The RD ensures that quality peer and family support and care coordination services are provided throughout the region in a timely and professional manner. The RD prepares and trains all regional staff under their supervision to provide outreach and direct services.
The RD conducts outreach to promote VVFS/DVS services and collaborates closely with other DVS service lines to enhance services for Military Service Members, Veterans, and their families (SMVF).
The VVFS program mission is to provide resource connections, care coordination, behavioral health and rehabilitative supports and services to Virginia’s military veterans, service members of the National Guard, Armed Forces Reserves, dependents, caregivers and family members.
