Up to 29 hours per week. Must be able to work rotating shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm -11pm or 11pm-7am).

Southeastern Virginia Training Center is seeking a part-time candidate who will patrol premises to provide safety and security for patients, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

This position will be required to monitor State property and provide information and directions as needed.

Will patrol site or building access, monitor staff, visitors, and the public to ensure compliance with security and safety procedures.

Additionally, this position will serve as a backup to receptionists, establishing and maintaining office files as needed. Minimum Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent.

Must have valid Drivers License.

Must be able to successfully complete CPR , First Aid, and physical/behavior management training.

Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports utilizing the computer.

Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions and procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to react appropriately in routine and emergency situations.

Ability to use equipment required in the conduct of duty.

Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.

Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Preferred Qualifications - A valid private Security Services Certification issued by the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS ) is preferred but not required.
