Position Responsibilities
The purpose of this post-doctoral position is designed as a transition to a research independence program for early career clinician-scientists interested in aging research in older adults and the impact of Occupational Therapy in cancer treatment. The position will also include teaching development and teaching at least one graduate course per year in the Department of Occupational Therapy. The post-doctoral trainee will be expected to create an Individuated Development Plan (IDP) defining specific goals and activities to be accomplished during the training period. Activities should align with the outcome of creating and beginning implementation of a program of research focused on older adults with cancer and the use of occupational therapy to prevent hospital readmission. Activities may include coursework in grant writing, community needs assessment, networking with community organizations, identifying/establishing an independent research funding source, and identifying possible employment opportunities in the field of interest. Additionally, the post-doctoral trainee will be expected to contribute to the scholarship of academic-community partnerships through publication and/or presentation at selected professional conferences.
