Chief Purpose of this position:

VCUSchool of Nursing invites applicants to apply to the role of Medical Surgical/Adult Care Faculty. This open rank 12-month term faculty position will serve as faculty with clinical expertise in acute care, with adult health focus. Faculty hired into this position will teach in undergraduate and/or graduate adult health; contribute to curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; coordinate clinical sections and clinical education sites; clinically supervise students in undergraduate clinical; participate in school governance activities; and implement all roles of term faculty (teaching, scholarship and service).
Faculty appointment (term or tenure-eligible), rank, and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievement, certifications, and teaching experience.

Required Qualifications: 

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse inVirginia
• Graduate degree in nursing
• Clinical experience working with adults in acute care settings
• Documented effectiveness in collaboration and communication
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diversefaculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a facultymember at VCU

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) innursing or related field
• Experience in higher education, including teaching and simulationinstruction
• Record of accomplishments in scholarship andprofessional service
